66, Milan, studies of Palazzo Fontana-Silvestri
Inscribed ‘MILAN’, with other notes in pencil, 230x160mm.
This 14th century palazzo, substantially remodelled in the late 15th century and attributed to Donato Bramante (1444-1514) is situated at Corso Venezia 10. It has a stone portico, plaster rendered walls and terracotta window jambs. Mackintosh has paid particular attention to the treatment of the eaves (bottom left) and the balcony above the entrance (bottom right).
