Inscribed ‘ARCH. MUSEO/MILAN/ENTRANCE DOOR’, pencil, 158x93mm

The portal was the main entrance to the Palazzo Bentivoglio which once stood in the Piazza San Giovanni in Conca. It had already been removed to the Museo Archeologico in the Palazzo di Brera when Mackintosh saw it in 1891. It is now (2007) in Room XIV in the Museo d’Arte Antica in the Corte Ducale of the Castello Sforzesco.
